It's hard to find brilliant and legit industrial made in this time and age. I wouldn't call this brilliant but it's obscure which I've heard is the most important thing! A Moscow industrial / dark ambient band. Very cold.
I've heard that there are some non-conformist fuckers who download from this blog and still prefer mp3 to FLAC. But very well, I am a conformist fucker so here you go: download mp3 v0 part1 part2
Aix has a strange sound to it. It's as if all the pops and clicks, fused with the enchanted looping melodies (can i call them that?) come to life. It doesn't feel random or unstructured, but it certainly doesn't feel organized. It's as if you you enter an own little world and listen to all the natural sounds of the objects and creatures of this world. Almost minimalistic in it's sound yet magically engaging.
Being one of the most painful doom metal bands out there, Khanate seems to live up to their reputation at least on the earlier part on the album. The abrasive guitar, slow dooming bass, the vocalist utterly screaming his guts out and with the slow spasmatic drumming it becomes a somewhat harsh mixture. Later on album the dissonance is toned down, the fault in the vocals become all too apparent and they're basically excusing themselves with "well, we're droning". However it's still worth a listen for the earlier part of the album.
Another obscure gem. An EP portraying his feelings for the winter. The genre would be something like experimental ambient. Straight from source, dat, not burned or ripped (not from me though).
The first cd is among the most psychedelic things I've heard. It's just droning vibrating frequencies slowly morphing in and out. After a while you start wondering what is actually part of the music and what is only in your imagination. Somehow so strangely arousing. The second cd is more rhythmical, perhaps more accessible I don't know, but I didn't enjoy it as much.
Kevin Martin, Justin Broadrick, Scott Kiehl, John Zorn, Dave Cochrane, Lou Ciccotelli.
Ok I realize that this is the second post in a row featuring Justin Broadrick. But don't take me for a fanboy or anything, Jesu is for hipsterfaggots going "lolol true drone/industrial" when they're actually just listening to his pop albums.
Anyway, this album is a nice experimental mix of free jazz styled wind instruments meets cold, pale music such as industrial metal (though it doesn't feel very metal at all).
I wouldn't exactly label myself as a Squarepusher fan, but this gets my seal of approval, intense, uplifting and plain enjoyable. It's just an EP so it doesn't get too long or tedious either. mp3 vbr v0 (vinyl)
The most intense and extreme(?) of Ultra Shit Band releases if that counts for anything. It's a classic set up with the 1,2,3,4 buildup before each song, though never resorting to the unsatisfactory 1-5second noise-burst technique of Yellow Trash Bazooka. No, this is a non-stop mayhem, carnage beyond imagination. Drowning in endless feedback the instruments all get suffocated in the ocean of noise, except the drums. We have Yoshida Tatsuya, from Ruins among many others, literally mangling his distorted drum set.
Haunting metallic ambiances, noisy outbursts, whining loops of guitar feedback. A cute and obscure dronanation I recently found combining the noise and the ambient. Ultimately not harsh, soothing.
While their debut album was somewhat unique, it was nothing close to being revolutionary. While it was worth at least a few listens, it's perhaps one those albums which just makes you forget about it after a while.
Mutations EP takes on a much more experimental approach, which I of course greatly appreciate. It brings in dissonant sound manipulation and certainly doesn't stick to that tired formula of mellow nu jazz.
Although it's an EP, it's actually 38 minutes long.
First upload in a while, but yeah I've been busy. A friend asked me to up an album by these and since he hates industrial I thought I'd upload this one, perhaps their most post-punkish album.
"They are like early Swans mixed with Throbbing Gristle." -HeadphoneHalo, who, for the record, introduced me to them.
A subtle, melancholy and melodic, very touching piece of industrial-influenced slow motion music. Lyrics sung in Swedish. Though perhaps this is best enjoyed unexplained.
This quite atmospheric piece of distorted loops to me feels more like an ambient release in a sense, but is perhaps best explained if I call it noise. Or I could try explain how it sound DJUUN DJAAAAAEEEN DJUUN DJAAAEEEN which then transcends into a blup blip blop blep bläp blop all over a constant PSSHHT etc. etc. Not your average noise record, 12½ minutes of concentrated quality. http://www.mediafire.com/file/tmomgyjt1qm/Aaron Dilloway - Infinite Lucifer 12'' EP (hanson, 2007).rar vinyl-cbr-320
I'll be honest, this album didn't quite live up to my expectations of this group. Instead of something entirely fresh this album rather feels like a mix of their past two albums. That said, it is still a good album worth at least a few listens. Layered vocals often put in separate channels, driving textured rhythm, droning soundscapes. But if the guys in Dälek want to remain as the group considered to be running the forefront of pushing the boundaries of hip-hop they better start pushing.
Possibly the most overlooked project closely related to the sacred weeaboo hipster band Boris. Rollo is Atsuo's (drums/vocals in Boris) solo project (or almost solo project at least), this album is very comparable to the album "Soundtrack from film 'Mabuta no Ura'". It's mostly just a lonely guitar or two recorded on a tape recorder. There are some moments where he actually sings and some a few where it transcends into some shoegazyness. Overall rather singer-songwriter-esque if you ask me. Oh and this album is NO DRUMS.
Oh yes Teabagger, one of the finest and most engaging drone albums I've ever heard. It's not solely dronanation either so there's much to hear for anyone.
DEAD LINK? Have a look in this post. If it's not there feel free to request a reupload and I'll try to get on it as soon as possible.
Just a few thing's I'd like to make clear. I don't use the experimental tag/label on my posts because I'd end up tagging 9 out of 10 posts with it anyway. "Experimental" is not a genre of music, it is a way to approach creativity. Neither is "drone" really a genre of music, but I use that anyway, sue me.
