Karlheinz Stockhausen - Elektronische Musik 1952-60 (1991) [FLAC&v0]

Even if it does feel a bit cliché to post this album I feel a responsibility to do so. Stockhausen was one of the first to create music that can be considered an art of sound. By super-imposing sine waves he managed to construct the sounds themselves from their very basic structure. This is a compilation from some of his work during the years 1952-1960. The somewhat chaotic series of sounds create a rather mellow atmosphere despite their unpredictability and can still be compared to the modern noise music of today. An absolutely must-hear album. Genius or garbage, you decide.

  1. Llort ...

Potential request here for you ... noticed that you are a fan of Karlheinz Stockhausen. I had the following CD at one time, and in checking the Discogs site for Stockhausen's works, I didn't see it listed at all. Strange.

    Here is the title:

Stockhausen: Helikopter Streichquartett ("Helicopter" String Quartet) (Arditti Quartet Edition, Vol. 35) [IMPORT] released Jan. 11th, 2000. URL for this CD (with further info):

    [add the w w w . here]

If you haven't heard it at all, Stockhausen gets several helicopters and places classical musicians in them to play their instruments (complete with the sound of the rotorblades backing them up). It's a weird concept, and the final result sounds a bit odd, but it just adds to the bizarre scope of Stockhausen's creativity.

Check it out if you can and post back here if you find anything.

    Take care,

  2. Oh yeah I have that one. Don't care for it as much to be honest, but it's definitely not bad, I'll see if I can get some time to upload it for you.

  3. It's uploaded now, check the front page.

  6. I'm so happy to find this blog, most of my friends are excited about this blog because we're consuming a lot of electronic music, and this band isn't bad enough. Stockhausen was one of my favorites bands and they just love the music, it's awesome to read about them.

  7. Many sorts of youtube converter are boundless or else even come along with cost-free trials.

  8. Hi There. Great Blog! I know the original posting here is quite old, any chance you can re-upload this? I've been searching for it for ages and can't find one without broken links. Thanks much if you can.
