Dark Ambient album released on Steve Roach's label SteveRoach.com (recommended). Has very nice tone and development. Listen to it loud to grasp all the details, or else it kind of defeats the point.
Just briefly listened to the mp3 samples of this disc over at the Steve Roach website (steveroach.com) and was intrigued by both your suggestions above and the brief review on Roach's site.
It kind of reminds me of the ambient composer by the name of Kim Cascone (of PGR or "Poison Gas Research" fame - on the Silent label in San Francisco, CA). Nice dark ambient - almost organic in composition.
Check out Kim Cascone if you like this stuff ... Cascone was employed by filmaker David Lynch to help compose the soundtrack for the Twin Peaks television series.

DEAD LINK? Have a look in this post. If it's not there feel free to request a reupload and I'll try to get on it as soon as possible.
Just a few thing's I'd like to make clear. I don't use the experimental tag/label on my posts because I'd end up tagging 9 out of 10 posts with it anyway. "Experimental" is not a genre of music, it is a way to approach creativity. Neither is "drone" really a genre of music, but I use that anyway, sue me.

FLAC is a lossless audio format and encoder. During compression, FLAC does not lose quality from the audio stream.
V0, aka APX (Alt Preset eXtreme) is a LAME variable bitrate setting with an aimed average bitrate at 250kbps. Today LAME is widely recognized as the best lossy format (mp3) audio encoder at mid-high bitrates.
